Mcleod Twin Disk Question
Mcleod Twin Disk Question
Hi there, im in the process of installing a T56 in a third gen and i bought it with a Mcleod Twin Disk clutch with adjustable master cylinder. Now my motor is pretty much a stock 350 so this clutch setup is kind of overkill. Im wondering if i can ditch the Twin Disk setup and use as a Single Disk? Id just not install one of the clutches and the center pressure plate whatever its called right? Will this all work and help the driveability?
Thanks!
Thanks!
Re: Mcleod Twin Disk Question
anyone know? Id like to get the clutch assembly installed today...
I dont see why not? Mcleods pressure plate only has 1 part # and same with the clutch. I could just not use 1 clutch and the floater id think. I just wanted to run this by someone else to see what they think...thanks.

Re: Mcleod Twin Disk Question
I don't think that would work. But I have a Street Twin, and believe me - it's perfectly daily drivable. I don't see why anyone would run it with just one disc even if you could.

Re: Mcleod Twin Disk Question
I have just heard stories of people putting stage 4 clutches and stuff on stock motors and its too hard to park or drive in traffic. I mean i want a little bit of slipping...and from the sounds its either grab or no grab. I dont know, but also what torque specifications do i need to go by i dont have a manual or anything because i bought it used.
Thanks Dave

Re: Mcleod Twin Disk Question
Unfortunately I can't find the instructions that came with my Street Twin, or I'd scan them and e-mail them to you.
The Street Twin, despite being able to handle an enormous amount of power, is very easy to drive on the street. I find my ST to be quiet, smooth, and easy to control. Pedal effort is a bit higher than stock, but not unbearable.
