McLeod big trouble, please help ...

Hi there, I have got problem with McLeod Dual Clutch kit.

Last thursday I put my McLeod Clutch kit with flywheel in my car and adjusted master clutch cylinder as it is told - 1" under brake pedal. The clutch was handling great, except 1st gear and rear which were hard to shift, but not so bad. I went to drag races today. On the road, there was traffic jam, so we were moving about 20minutes at the speed of walking. After that the clutch smelled bad and it was hard to shift. I let the car cold down, It was OK then. I run about 8 times and suddenly the car stopped down. Clutch pedal is easy to push. I decided to open brake fluid reservoir and the fluid splashed all over. Again, I let the car cold down, but nothing happened, the clutch is dead. What is wrong? I bought McLeod, because my car have already eaten Valeo clutch. Where is the problem?

Thanx

did you give it the break in mileage it needed? and did you check the clearance between the disk and floater like the directions say? i have had mine in for over 1and 1/2 years and with 5500rpm launches . bent the axles but no damage to the clutch so far. pull it out and call mcleod.

Ya, it sounds like you didn't let it break in for starters. Supposed to put 500 EASY miles on it before getting on it --- let alone taking it to the dragstrip.

Is this washers set up good? If not, could it brake the friction plates?

they space the pressure plate from the flywheel. i dont think break would be the right word, maybe wear quicker . if it is the case the clutch hasnet been engaging or disengaging correctly causing premature wear. did you install the washers the exact way they came out of the box? you didnt check the clearance when you put it together either did ya? call mcleod and talk to them they might be nice and send you a set of new disk or recover yours
