Maximizing Stroker Motor Efficiency

Well, I just had an LT1 383 stroker motor built last summer. It currently has about 12k miles on it and it finally messed my 10 bolt up, even though the carrier and gears were only a year and 1/2 old. Not to mention it blew my 1 year old newly overhauled tranny up 2 weeks after the motor was installed. I know a decent amount about cars, and mine especially, although I want to know what set up really 'works'. Here's the basic set-up of the vehicle. And a pic as well....http://myspace-942.vo.llnwd.net/0085...58343942_l.jpg

*1993 z28 LT1 stroker motor (143k miles on body)
* 4 speed automatic transmission with upgraded planetary gear set
* 4L60 transmission
* rear end - being replaced
* BMR tubular k-member, tubular adjustable lower control arms and tubular upper control arms
* eibach front/rear sway bars
* SLP strut tower brace (2 point)
* subframe connecters
* tubular rear trail arms and panhard bar
* stock torque arm

anyway, what i would like to know...

whats a good rear? mosor 12 bolt or 9"
whats an ideal gear ratio
whats ideal axle spline #
stock stall speed is probably hurting me more than i realize so...what stall speed do i go to?
im still at stock injectors.....so what lb injector do i roll with?

now the motor has the LT1 heads, ported and polished although im sure there are better heads i can get - whats out there

i tracked the car 3 times, 3 total runs with limited track experience and ran a 12.661 at 108mph R/T .107 60' 1.874 1/8 8.131 at 87.87mph

so with a little more practice im sure i could have better the 1/4 mile time by maybe a tenth or so realistically but i think my setup surrounding my motor is just incorrect.....so whats the next move......the car is idle until spring or summer next season so i have some time to gather money and do this the right way....keep in mind, the motor is still under warranty so i'd rather not rip heads off or get internally involved......

thanks for reading the longest thread ever

Giovanni

Re: Maximizing Stroker Motor Efficiency

Need more info. I am not an automatic guy, real men shift their own gears, but stall speed is dependent on cam and hp. A bigger cam needs a higher stall. I have read that hp will also effect actual stall speed. Didn't make much sense to me, but that is what I read, can't remember where.

None of this is "Advanced Tech". I'll move this to "Drivetrain" to get your rear axle and stall questions answered. You might want to "copy and paste" the questions about the injectors and heads and post in "LT1/LT4 Engine Tech".
