M6 Tranny Fluid

M6 Tranny Fluid

ok so i had the tranny out to replace my clutch and swapping to a hurst short shift. I noticed there was only a little bit of residue worth of fluid that was visible. how much is supposed to be in there? should i bebael to see or not?

The fill plug is on the pass side. When you remove the female 3/8" square plug 1/2 way up on the side of the trans, you should be able to feel it when you stick a finger in there.

FWIW, it takes about 3.6-4 qts of dex III or RP SyncroMax.

I am unsure as to what you mean when you say 'see the fluid'. Looking in the fill hole?

I think you mean there was only a little bit of fluid laying in around where the shifter goes (once you pulled the shifter off), correct?? That's ok . The bulk of the fluid is down in the tranny, and circulates around while it's running.
