M6 guys , I have a question !

My car sometimes pops outa 3rd unless i put a little force behind it when i put it in gear and then it never does it , and sometimes grinds going into fourth using skip shift , if i double clutch it , it does not do it at all !!!!! Do you think this is the Slave cylinder ? . The tranny performs very well for the most part and doesnt do any of the above at high rpm's . I was told 99 slaves where kinda defective .........Any input would be appreciated !

Third gear sounds like a bad gear. Fourth is the synchro's since it shifts fine double clutching. Time to look for a good trans shop.

well my friend, welcome to the m6 dilemma.... I have gone thru 2 clutches on less than a year. It sounds like bad synchro's and yeah it is going to be expensive..... A question to all!!!
Is it hard to go shift in your m6? Even with a new clutch? I just got my clutch last week and I was told it be a bad actuator.. It looks like an all nighter tonight to get ready for the Super Chevy Show in Tucson. By the way, its the ZO6 clutch....

Well i broke the tranny in my LT1 when i put one of those stupid Heavy centerforce flywheels in it and missed a gear w/a dual friction clutch that dont give , running 6grand from 2nd to 5th . I got a discount " huge one " on the rebuild and it still costed me over 1300 cause of the price iin all the broken parts ..............It wont cost me to much to put in new synchro's and bearings "less then 600 all together , but thats not including a clutch and slave wich i will put in just for having it out " but i aint got 600 dollars I got to be santa this month

Mine has started grinding third until it warms up. I think my clutch is cooked.

You think the clutch could be causing this problem on my car ? It seems to hook up fairly nice .

A defective pressure plate or throwout bearing would make shifting gears dificult. But with either repair you might as well replace the clutch pack too since you're in there. Most usually refer to it as a single piece anyway.

Mine will pop out of 3rd every once in a while when I'm not paying attention. I think whats happening is that I'm not pushing it totally in gear.

mine would pop out of third once in a while,,,recently my mechanic "adjusted" my shift stops for me because they were "way off" and now I need to pay attention when I put it into third, if I dont shift third with some push it will pop out.
