Yup...all 4th gen driveshafts are the same. I actually think some 3rd gen ones are the same also. You'll be fine.

Re: M6 driveshaft to A4

Since I haven't taken the time to measure the driveshaft in my car, anyone know off hand the length of them, center to center? (center of the u-joints).....I know that the driveshaft for our '73 is 48" or 48-1/2".....just curious if they're interchangable.....I doubt it though.

correct...

all drive shafts from 83 to 02 are interchangable....v8, v6, firebird, camaro, 3rd, 4th or ls1, steel alum or 1le....

all the same.
i've heard that something was different in the 82 manuals that didn't allow them to be swapped...but dont quote me on that

They are not usually measured "center to center". Denny's Driveshaft web site has a good tutorial on measuring driveshafts.

Okay, regardless of "how" they're measured, anyone know the length difference between a 3rd/4th-gen shaft and a 2nd-gen shaft? My guess is that a 4th-gen shaft would be shorter?

Re: M6 driveshaft to A4

The 3rd/4th gen driveshafts are 43 inches. I think the 2nd gen are 48 or 48 1/2 inches. Hope this helps.
