M6 Clutch Failure and Protection

Hello,

I was wondering what people are doing to prevent against a clutch explosion with an M6.

I know Taner (I believe) had a nasty explosion leaving his toes broken. He was using an auto style blanket which may or may not have been responsible for saving his feet.

Has anyone run a universal blanket on a manual trans bell housing? Is there room? On the street?

Has anyone welded/bolted steel plate under the carpet around the tunnel?

I guess what is the general consensus on this? I'm getting my car going for the summer and starting to worry about the worst.

Thanks,
Scott.

I bought a blanket from Exotic Performance that claimed to fit. Not even close. I was searching for other options and considering floor plates when Tanner clued me in to the Mcleod thread requesting they add an SFI housing for us. Long story short, it will be for sale in mid June for $800, estimated by Mcleod. Search SFI Bellhousing to learn more.

Just buy that from Mcleod. It's the best option by far.

I'm not far from you - maybe they would cut us a decent break on two of them bought/shipped together or something.
