Just was curious to see what everyone runs and why?

have tried it both ways and prefer the stock. While the vibrations are not bad I prefered the stock since the cars my daily driver and I want max comfort. I keep the poly as back up.

Yeah....I tried 3 stock mounts and broke all of them before switching to the Poly. This was prior to the 383/Procharger. Mine was my daily driver to and for some months still is my daily driver. A few years back, I was driving it over 500 Miles a week with 383/Prorcharger combo. I got used to the Poly mount over the years but recently went back to driving the car after it sat for almost 6 months and noticed how different the Poly feels

I broke my stocker, then bought a stock replacement and broke that after a couple months. I got sick of breaking them, so I bought a poly one and have never looked back.

I run Prothane urethane motor mounts, but a stock tranny mount.

There are folks that have reported that their tranny's tail housing
has cracked after changing to a urethane tranny mount, and leaving
the stock rubber engine mounts. The engine torques (twists) under
load and the axis of motion occurs at the tranny mount - if you have
a stiff mount at the tranny, something has to give. Here's a reply from
Dave at Yank when I inquired about using a urethane mount:

" . . . the poly mount will break the tail housing over time and is not
needed unless the frame is tied together with a roll cage."

I guess Sub Frame connectors alone should help as well.

I have a poly mount on my trans, broke the stocker, so I threw in a poly, at first the vibrations were awful I thought something was thrown out of balance, but after it got "broke it" the mount is fine and does not bother me.

I have had poly mounts on three different vehicles all street driven and have never had a problem.

Tore my stock mount partially - I could see cracks in the rubber when I jacked up on the trans to stretch it a bit. I'm switching to poly real soon, if my Street Twin ever shows up. I have prothane engine mounts already, so hopefully the tailhousing breakage issue won't be a problem for me...?! I'll check back with an assessment when it's done.

I tried switching to the poly mount when my car was still an A4. The vibrations drove me nuts. I switched back to the stock LS1 mount .

Then I put the 6-speed in, and thought I'd try the poly mount (again) with it. The vibrations drove me nuts. I switched back to the stock LS1 mount .

Then after a bunch of abuse on the road course, I tore the rubber in the mount. So I switched to the poly mount (again!) . The vibrations still drove me nuts!

NOW, I replaced most of the suspension in my car (K-member included) and installed a set of Prothane poly motor mounts while I was at it. I'm still running the poly tranny mount as well. I'm happy to report that the vibrations are much, much less!!! Seriously! I've heard people say this before, and I've always been skeptical. Maybe it won't fix it in every case, but in my car anyway, it's very tolerable now!

My conclusion? All poly, or all rubber. Apparently half & half doesn't work so well!

Correct - run all urethane. Rubber engine and poly tranny is not a
good combination (although folks run em that way).
