LT1:auto to manual tranny=> Chip programming

Hello!
I'm changing over from a 92`Corvette LT1 with 4L60 in a 69' Camaro to a 94' BW 6 speed M/T.
I'm doing the installation now and today I installed the reprogrammed chip and it didn't work! I started the engine and got an idle speed at 2000 rpm. After some investigation I pulled the connector from the vss, because this was the only changed sensor, and the rpm dropped to 900 rpm!

I didn't installed the drive shaft yet so the tranny output shaft has some revs although the transmission is in neutral gear, so the vss detects a speed signal and I think this is the problem.
A buddy of mine did the reprogramming but only eleminated the signals from the auto tranny to the ecm. In the basics it's the software for an automatic.
Should we use a basic programming for an original manual tranny car?
Because for our opinion normally for a manual transmission there is no need for the vss signal to the engine compared to an automatic setup, but now there's an influence.

Thanks for any help!

Have the ECM programming changed to an M6 configuration. But if you are still running the 92 Corvette ECM, it might not be that simple. I don't know the pulse signals from the 92 Corvette A4, but in the later year F-Body's the A4 signal is based on 40 pulses per output shaft revolution, and the M6 only has 17 pulse per rev. The Corvette may have used a system similar to the 93 and earlier F-Body, where the VSS was actually gear driven, and the gear in the VSS selected to produce 4000 pulse per mile.

With regard to the idle speed, again don't know the details of the Corvette ECM, but in the 94 and newer PCM's there is a "follower" table the elevates the idle RPM when the vehicle is moving (VSS output not equal to "0"). That is a feature of both the A4 and M6 programs, intended to reduce stalling when the throttle blades close at speed.

I'll move this to "Drivetrain", since its not an engine question. You might also consider posting it on the "Computer....." forum.
