The rear end we installed still had the 3 chan abs with one sensor on top of the dif. I don't know what year it was but it looked really new.
Im sure Stew can tell you what year it was.

Dang......................that is what I was afraid of. I want a 9 inch but from what I can tell I will not be able to keep my abs with it. It is available for 4 channel just not 3 channel. Oh well, thanks for the reply. I guess I need to decide whether I will ditch the abs or get a 12 bolt. I read somewhere that someone made something on the yoke and mounted a bracket with the sensor............................................ .......I am not going to mess with that.

Thanks again for the reply though.

James,

Thats what I was wondering as well. However it doesn't make any sense then as to how a 3 ch sensor is on an LS1 rearend?
The rear came out of a hawk and has only 7k on it. Go figure.
All i know is... It works and I'm a happy guy.

Good luck with the decision on retaining the abs or not? I went with a 12 bolt for just that reason.

AFAIK, the difference between 3 channel and 4 channel system is whether the car has traction control or not. My LS1 uses 3 channel, and does not have traction control, so it only has 1 sensor on top of the diff.

Thats exactly my opinion... The rearend didn't have TCS ( the guy I bought it from specifically told me that).

So, as of right now thats what i'm gonna stick with.
