LS1 driveshaft in an LT1..any help in the 1320??

So does it really make a difference in drivability or track times??

I believe it is a direct bolt-on modification, but I want it to be useful before I buy.

I know it reduces rotational mass, but does it actually do any good??

Thanks!!

thought an LS1 didn't fit the LT1? check for other posts because i thought the size or length of the input shaft was different? just get an aluminum one

It fits, but without a vibration, it doesn't really benefit correct??

It does fit, I think its worth it if you can find one cheap.

I think a test on ws6.com or something saw like 1-2hp, and 5 ft/lbs on the dyno. Fortunately it was through most of the RPM range. I have one, I got it for vibes, but every little bit counts.

EDIT: Yup there it is. Not bad at all.

I have 4.10 gears which means the drive shaft turns even faster, does this mean that the aluminum drive shaft provides even bigger gains with the 4.10's.

I have the 1LE shaft that the dealer installed back in 1997 under warranty cause the stock on had high speed vibes.

Imho, I'd spend your money on a good quality 3" steel shaft. I broke a 1LE in half on the dyno and while the steel may swallow a little power it will not break, and its good piece of mind. The one I have is good for cars in the 9s and was $200...
