Exclamation longer lug nuts for a dana 60 rear end

I now have a strange dana 60 under my car, and the normal chrome closed end lug nuts are a touch to short. Every time I put them on, they bugger up the threads at the tips of the studs..

Where can I get 10 longer chrome lug nuts for the rear? They are still the stock thread pitch too, anyone know that offhand?

I suppose if they sell them in packs of 4 I could just put them on the front too, but with stock hubs the longer lug nuts wouldn't be needed.

Advice?

I had the same problem because I have 3" studs and ended up finding the open ended tapered seat lug nuts at a swap meet. I know this doesn't help you but they are out there. I know of at least one guy who had closed end lug nuts and just drilled the ends out.

I have 3" long x 1/2" studs in my Strange 12-bolts, and found a set of "duplex" closed end acorn lug nuts. They were still not long enough to seat correctly. I drilled out the ends, ran a tap through entire length of the nut, and through the now "open" end of the nut. Provided enough length to allow the taper to seat correclty, and looked 1/2-way decent when running my street wheels.

I was also able to find a set of 12mm duplex nuts for the longer front wheel studs, but never got around to drilling and tapping them.

hmm, ok so far only option is for open ended lug nuts, either purchased that way or made that way?

I would like to have closed ended lugs if possible.. and still chrome to match the chrome rims..

Have you tried searching Summit or Jegs? They both have lots of different lug nuts.

summit carries gorilla, and the longest they make in a chrome, closed lug in 12mm x 1.5 is 1.4 inches. I need something longer.

I didn't find anything on jegs..

That is why I was wondering if anyone here found something that worked.

Do you still have the set you didn't drill out? Curious of the measurements on them. My lug nuts are 1 3/8 long from tip to tip. I only need about a quarter inch or a half inch longer... If they are longer then 1.75 inches in total, you willing to sell them or let me know where you got them from so I can get a set?

Thanks Injuneer.

Yup, found some online from a place in Michigan. Chrome and extended length. The lugs I was using were 1 3/8" long, these are a half inch longer. And they dont look too long sticking out of my chrome Z06 wheels. PM me if you want the info of where I got mine from, I dont want to knot people's undies on this board by advertising a non-supporting member.
