Ok, I am about ready to stab the tranny back in tomorrow and was wondering what that long black tube on the top of the tranny is? It goes up by the motor and looks almost like it would be a dipstick tube but my tranny is a manual. What is this tube?? Can I take it off???

 

as far as i know thats a vent, i wouldnt remove it

 

****!!! It broke tonight when I was trying to stab the tranny in. I think I can get it to fit again though, it broke off towards the bottom by the tranny.

 

Plastic tube? If there is a male metal fitting on the trans, you can prolly just get a section of rubber hose, route it away from anything hot, and stick the check valve/screen back on the end. Zip tie it up top somewhere.

I'll be doin my tranny soon.. thanx for the heads up, tho.
