Lockup "test switch" to disarm and arm lockup....Which wire?

My car locks up the converter at 95 MPH under WOT, I want to be able to disable lockup and try it both ways to see which is quicker.

Do I open the tan/black wire at pin 11 in the blue connector on the ecm and put a switch in the break the circuit, or break the signal wire at the brake light switch, the normally closed that sends the signal to unlock under braking?

Or is there a better way?

Dave, Pin "T", at the transmission case connector is TCC ground. If you splice in a toggle, you can cut your ground, and disable the lock-up.

Yes. If the computer commands lock-up, but doesn't see an RPM drop, it'll set a code. Yes, the brake switch may be a better idea, because it commnds the solenoid to be off.

You should never see lock-up in a quarter mile run. It usually slows the car down AND it's hard on the transmission.

for some reason many factory tunes i have looked at have tcc lock up at 95 mph at wot

just have your pcm re-programmed by someone and have them adjust the wot tcc table

here is a stock 95 lt1 file and at 95 mph in 3rd at wot the tcc is turned on:

You need converter lock-up to keep the trans temp down, if you're going to street drive it. It'll cause the 3-4 clutches to go prematurely without it. Have Edd set the computer so it will not lock at WOT. Under normal conditions, you want it to lock around 60-65 MPH.

Mph does not concern me, ET does.

Ed Wright told me they pretty much ET the same locked or unlocked. They MPH more.

Frank at CPT tells me it is hard on the trans.

Thats all the info I need. It has need disabled.
