A Little Differential Help

Hey all. Recently my posi took a dump and I'm looking to replace it but am a little unsure what to look for. If read several posts on eaton, auburn, and torsen.

I guess what im looking for is the cheapest (but not an utter peice of crap) set up. Whats the difference between an eaton posi and the torsen differential? About how much would a new posi, or posi-like, unit go for with a set of 3.73s and where could I get them.

Ultimately this is for a daily driver, so I dont need anything radical. It may see a little track time, and occasional burnout, and some sideways-getting (what probably toasted the old one in the first place). I dont have much money, but its embarassing leaving a one-legger and it just doesnt drive the same, much less fun. Anyway, thanks for any information.

P.S. mods, feel free to move this to driveline (where it probably belongs), I couldnt acess that section for some reason

If you want to go with new stuff check out Power Train Truck and Auto Parts 1-866-589-GEAR. They have been the cheapest I've seen so far..They have a package which includes an Eaton Posi, Precision Gears (your choice of ratio), and a master overhaul kit which includes all Timken bearings (except axle), CR pinion seal, OEM ring gear bolts, shims, OEM crush sleeve, OEM pinion nut, cover gasket, and marking compound for $559.97 + $39 to ship it...I talked to Kevin when I called them...Also for a couple bucks more they have GM gears...Also Randy's Ring and Pinion has good prices too...
