leaking tranny lines after FLP level 4 install

I helped a friend install his slightly used FLP level 4 4L60E this weekend now the tranny lines that hook up at the transmission are leaking, we got them pretty tight and I did not want to crank down on em and strip them out.
Has anyone had this problem? Should we crank down on em more or is there too much pressure with the level 4? I have never messed with a tranny built to hilt like this one is, could there be a problem with too much pressure?
Are we going to have to go with braided lines with AN fittings?
When I put my slightly built tranny in I did not have to put as much torque on those fittings and I have had no leaks.
