Keep 3.42 or go with 3.73?

No dont swap. Gears and converter are not your problem at this stage. Traction is. LCARs may help, adjustable shocks will help, different tires will help. Adding torque with a gear swap or converter change will only make wheel spin worse.

I always launched my auto 94 z from an idle, flashing the converter on take off. With a stock style suspension, imho, its your best bet to get the most snap from the converter. My 60s were always higher whan flashing rather than bringing it up on the converter. My best et was a 12.81 @ 106 with a 1.77 60 ft. Not the greatest 60, but pretty good considering the time and mph. Another great investment is an adjustable torque arm. Play around with your pinion angle to see what gets the best results, but i usually had the best results with -3 or -4 degrees of pinion angle. Stock shocks, stock boxed control arms, 3.73 gears, and 3600 converter, on a 26 x 11.5 et street. Hope this helps, Eric L
I've contacted Andre at Edge and he gave told me no problem to re-stall my converter from 3000 to 3600. I also found someone that will set up a set of 3.73 gears for some exchange work. So, after I get larger injectors I'm going to do both, the higher stall and 3.73 gears. Thanks everyone for the advice and input.
