I've been thinking of swaping out the 3.42 out for 3.73's. Kind of a small increase. Is it worth it?

no. I done the same thing, but for different reasons. I really couldnt feel any difference b/t the two.

I have no drag strip comparison though. Probably would show a difference one way or the other there, but from seat of the pants feel, nothing.

From 3.42s to 3.73s your not going to see much gain. You would be better off with a higher stall than a gear change.

If you use the car mostly for drag racing go with the 4.10s.......better yet save up some money and put either a Moser 12 bolt or 9" rear with the 4.10s

Having my converter restalled higher would probably cost less money than new gears huh?

No I'm pretty sure changing the converter would cost more, plus you already have a 3k stall. How high do you spin the motor to?

Best so far 1.82, that was before I added LCA's. Haven't been back yet to see if those helped.

I'm not knocking your car, but 1.82 is not that good. Are you spinning and what tires do you run?
For me a gear change would cost about the same as a converter update. If my shop did the work they charge the same for both, around $250 for setting the gears and the same for dropping the trans. The new gears and basic install kit would be about the same as the charge for the converter restall and the shipping cost.
A higher stall rating for your set-up would blow away a gear change when it comes to et reduction. It's not just about the better performance off the line but the better shift extension too. My rpms drops about 1200 between the shifts. It helps keep the motor more in it's power band. In fact I need to have my Yank SS3600 restalled to 4000 as I have some rpm left at the end of the 1/4 mile.

I know my car is slow for what I have and can't find the problem. I've been told injectors are a big problem but I see people running low 12's with stock injectors. I run MT ET Street radials. Sometimes I spin but not much. Z-Rated, do you launch off idle or hold the brake and bring up RPM's? I get wheel spin when I hold the brake and launch, so I hit the gas off idle. Maybe I just need more practice. I'm really frustrated with the car.

Well IMO, you just answered your question. You cant leave the line without being at idle. Launching the car will definately help your 60 ft. But like you said, you spin. So I would definately look at your suspension first. If you spin now, lowering your gearing will just make you spin more.

What shocks are you running? Are you running LCARs?
