Question I've searched. Need LT1 clutch options for someone who can't spend alot.

I got 2 kids, another on the way. I need to do the release bearing on the car as some of you have seen another thread of mine. So I'm going to do the clutch and PP while I'm in there, I'd be stupid not to. My stock clutch has approx 82k miles on it.

I know to get a steel aligment tool - not the plastic one.

Well I've read countless threads and everyone is all over the map for recommendations so I'll narrow it down.

1. Low Cost
2. My car isn't very powerful, however it may see a power adder down the road - it is as it sits in my sig. (possibly a turbo, but we're talkin a ways down the road and thats a whole different thread when I get into that position)
3. Doesn't see much track time, basically a mild bolt on car.
4. Low Cost.

I seen that some oem clutch kits can be an upgrade, like an LT4 clutch kit for a 96 vette? I have the write-ups for installs so I'm covered there, but I need specifics.

I'm a Canuck so anyone having links or good places for me to shop by all means post em here. Or if anyone can give me exactly the pieces I need so I can piece a kit together from ebay...I'm all for it.

My wife is kind enough to let me keep my toy, so my appreciation is to do this job for as little as possible.

Thanks guys. (gone back to the archives)

go too o'reilys and buy the clutch kit they have.. its the same PP as the LT4 and pretty much every other aftermarket clutch and a good OEM replacement disk.. you can always upgrade too a better disk later on and its all under $200 for PP,disk, throwout, pilot, and alignment tool.. should be good for any mild bolt on car.. its the same thing you would get from a dealer for $500 or whatever the hell they are

I put in a replacement from NAPA about a year ago. It uses the LT4 PP and seems just fine for the bolt ons that I have. I dont drive it easy and it grabs just fine. price was mid 200 US i think.
