Arrow Installing higher stall... tranny cooler?

I bought a Yank 2400 stall from Timberwolf today and I'd like to install it on the 93Z I bought earlier this summer. The tranny is a 700R4 and the car had 129K miles before I dropped in a fresh engine. No clue if the tranny has ever been rebuilt before, but it shifts fine right now. I decided I'll probably stay with the A4 on this Z. (was thinking about doing a T56 conversion) so if I blow the tranny, I'll just get it rebuilt.
My question is, what should I do besides the stall? Do I want a tranny cooler? If so, what GVW should I go with?
Should I do a shift kit? I don't care for firmer shifts, but if anything will improve the tranny life, I'll do it.
Thanks.

The tranny cooler is a must, and I am told that shift kits improve life. But in my case it did the opposite. I had one installed and my tranny was toast like 3 weeks later. I do believe it was the installers fault, but hey that was 2 years ago on a 98 T/A instead on my 97.

Yes, the cooler is a MUST. Get the Hayden ones from autozone, they arent overpriced. You can get the ones sized for RV'S for around $50.

It's pretty cheap insurance and easy to slap in, definitely worth it.

I got a B&M supercooler from summit. It was about $55 for a 24000 lb GVWR cooler. It came with EVERYTHING that I needed to install it, from the ties to the fittings.

I also put in a B&M shiftkit, the tranny has been fine so far for about 6k miles. I used valvoline maxxlife tranny fluid BTW.

[B]NO DOUBT!!!! It's a must even without the stall. I also just ordered my B&M from summit it was 49 bones, 24K. It supposed to increase your tranny life bby like 3 to 4 times. I just had my tranny rebuilt and the shop guys said they put coolers on their new cars.

Seems like a good deal, but this model does not include any installation parts. What is needed anyway?

You're basically just inserting it inline, so you'll need 2 1/2" nipples, 6 hose clamps and some 1/2" hose. You cut the line going to the radiator's tranny cooler and plumb one end of the cut hose to one end of the tranny cooler and the other end of the tranny cooler to the other end of the cut hose. I just read that this unit has threaded fittings, so you'll also need 2 1/2" female NPT to hose fittings for the cooler inlet/outlet.

From: Michigan is a decent state.
get the biggest trans cooler that you can afford, then get a deeper pan, a silverado pan will bolt up.

I also highly reccomend ford's non-synthetic fluid.
