Cool Installing a 3 channel 3.42 rearend in place of factory 4 channel 2.73 rear A4 Z28

My 2001 Z-28 A4 has a factory 4 channel 2.73 ration w/ G8O rearend, ABS & ASR. I came upon a salvage yard, well priced 3 channel 3.42 posi from a 6 spd 2000 Camaro.

I read the Rearend FAQ sticky by Keliente@pcmforless on the recommended practice for converting the 3 channel rearend by substituting the 4 channel axles in the 3 channel rearend and installing the sensors into the 3 channel's backing plates to accomodate the ARS.

Questions I have:

1. Is the ASR inoperative with the above 3 channel modifications?

2. Will the axles from the original factory rearend fit the 3 channel salvage yard rearend? (The original 4 channel rearend has a 2 series carrier and the salvage yard 3 channel has a 3 series carrier.)

Thanks for the great information on this sticky!
