I'm in the market for a driveshaft... I think

Well I was trying to take my driveshaft out and I ended up going a little overboard with a hammer on it... Needless to say, I broke something. Now, I haven't really figured out if I need a new driveshaft, but I think I will. My question is just basically can I buy a new driveshaft (preferably aluminum or something that would be considered an upgrade) that I won't have to like balance or do anything extra with? Just basically install and go. I did a search and quite a few of the threads mentioned doing things that went beyond just buying a new DS and putting it in.

Thanks

I think I just broke the U-joint. Is that something I can just replace and move on?

U-joint you can just replace and go. like $15 at the parts store Vs a couple hundred for a good new DS.
