i did change the fluid to 85w 140, iam going to replace my trans mount to see if that solves the problem because i put a pry bar between the mount and the trans and there is a little movement

 

Z06 did you ever figure out what the clunk was?

 

i replaced my trans mount dont go with a poly mount or you will get bad vibration i went with a Lt1 trans mount, its a tad bit bigger than the LS1 mount but not much at all and theres less clunking when i stop, much better than before but i sometimes slightly hear the noise when i stop

 

You think with everybody out here on this site would know what this might be. One post said change oil weight what would that matter? Wouldnt that just mask the problem if it was the weight of the oil. If this is the rear end setup wrong why does it do it only when we stop no other time?

 

its may just be the gears or nosie or something cause i had the backlash checked and its within specs

 

I heard it could also be the transmission making the clunk noise due to the gears?? I have no idea I am waiting to take my car in I need to take a day off to do it.

 

Did you ever find out what the clunking was. I took mine back to the place that installed my gears and they said it was coming from my transmission. Has anybody ever heard a tranny go clunk when you come to a stop??
