I have an idea...will it work?

Well, I have a future project flying around in my head faster than I can get it on paper.

Anyways, it's a completely custom built car, well mostly.

I wanted to use the 6 speed automatic trans-axle from the new C6's. Knowing nothing about automatic transmissions, much less this trans-axle, I figured my idea would just...work.

My idea is that I want paddle shifters, one for up shift and one for down shift. I don't want the transmission to shift on it's own otherwise, fully manual. Then I wanted to have two different shift settings, one semi-soft (harder than a factory car, with a little less lag) and then one full on racing, really frikkin hard and right when I hit the paddle. That would be controlled by a switch.

You would have an up and down shift paddle on both sides of the steering wheel, up shift paddle above the down, obviously. Now, I wanted to have neutral available at anytime, so I'd like to have a neutral button on the steering wheel. Now I still need to get into reverse and park right? If I were to hold down the neutral button and hit the up shift paddle it would go to park, if I were to hold the neutral button and hit the down shift paddle it would go into reverse, and it would stay into it's respective gear if you let out the paddle and the neutral button. Then, to shift out of P, N, and/or R you would just hit the up shift paddle which would put it in first.

First off...is all of that madness at all possible? I mean, could I get that operational without too many millions of dollars?

And let's say I pull this off, would the trans-axle live through it for a while? I would have coolers and such obviously to help out.

Thanks for any help guys, greatly appreciated!
