The GM part number is 22201140. I ordered one from GM Parts Direct a few weeks ago...cost a little over $30.

Re: i broke a tranny mount

Get the poly mount from summit. It is an energy suspension mount and it has a little more vibration with the a4 . I only notice the vibration when I go around 75MPH or higher, but I also have the loudmouth exhaust so I really don't care much about noise, obviously!!
Easy install though. Jack the back side of the car, slide under. Support it of course. Jack up under the tranny to lift it off the crossmember slighty. Remove, I believe (its been awhile for me also) two bolts from the tranny and the single bolt to the crossmember and insert the Poly mount. It comes with hardware. I think it took me more time to get the car supported than it did to actually change the part. By far the easiest thing to swap on these cars.

Re: i broke a tranny mount

I totally agree with everyone else. Get the energy suspension mount. I broke my tranny mount at the track about 3 months ago and ever since I changed to the energy suspension mount, I have had not problems.

Re: i broke a tranny mount

I had the ES on my car and I will never put one on again. I put a LS1 tranny mount on the car which fixed the "teeth rattling" experience . Just my personal experience.....

Re: i broke a tranny mount

The A4 cars will vibrate more . Especially thru the console. BUt I remember almost having to change my drawers as soon as the tranny mount broke while I romped on it. I thought something was coming thru the tranny tunnel!

Re: i broke a tranny mount

I thought i remember reading on the board that you can wrap a hose clamp around the stock tranny mount and tighten it up. It will help keep it from coming apart and it will still be soft enough to dampen vibration.

You're right, the Energy Suspension ones DO cause a lot of vibration (I put one in my car, and my buddy put one in his '97 Z28 M6). I'm considering putting back my stock LS1 mount just to get rid of the vibration. Also the stock LS1 mount is actually much more solid looking than the stock LT1 mount. I think it's probably a good compromise of strength with no vibration. I'd probably recommend the LS1 tranny mount to anyone that wants something better than the LT1 mount without going so far as getting the ES mount.
