Exclamation I broke the stud on my TA girdle!!! ---

Where do I get a replacement?! I am talking about the bearing cap studs, I tightened it to 30lbs (it said 60 MAX in the instructions) and the damn thing just snapped right off (with the black nut) .... luckily its not leaking. They should replace this for free, or it should be cheap. I will just replace it when I do my 4.10 swap I guess.....

Thanks for the help/time (if you need pics let me know) ---

your talking about the little preload stud with the lock nut?

I thought they were more like 5 ft lb.

The spec is 20" pounds of torque and 60" max.
Notice I said inches, not feet. Very little torque is required here.

You need a teeny tiny beam style torque wrench to properly do this.

Thinking the same thing. 5 ft/lb = 60 in/lb. Contact them I'm sure they'll send/sell you some new ones.

hey, it happens.
I went out and bought a nice Craftsman inch/lb torque wrench when I got my TA girdle thinking "I need an inch/lb torque wrench, never know when your going to need one of those"
The only thing I have ever used it for is the girdle.

yeah there are few application that require inch pounds. The other time i use mine is to set pinion preload, very useful there.

Funny story, I love it . So far so good, no noise, leaks or smells so like I said "screw it" .... now I know better when I put my girdle on my SY and my 67 ' .... the 96 is just the TEST DUMMY :P ---
