I believe my VIG Stall has bit the dust

Well I noticed the other day my stall didn't lock up, so I took it right back home, friend came over who is a mechanic, and we put a scanner on it. It said it was a TCC selinoid. So we pull the pan and replace it. Put the new tranny harness in with the new TCC selinoid connected to it. Take it down the road, and it still wont lock up.

So we pull the pan again and I noticed again there was black trash in the pan, and I had just cleaned it 15 minutes ago and put a new tranny filter on it. Then it clicked, the black trash was clutch material and it is causing these freakin selinoids to get stopped up and go bad. I alreay replaced the shift selinoids the weak before because they went bad.

So the clutch material is either from the tranny or the stall.

Well to make matters even worse the Tranny is brand new from Pro Built. I just spent 2 grand after shipping for this thing. I called the guy from Pro Built, real nice guy, and he said if it was the tranny clutches then the tranny wouldn't shift right. Well the tranny has shifted great since the day I got it, so we don't believe it's the tranny.

Then he asked what kind of stall I had. I said it's a 3600 Vig, and he saids man I never here of those going out. Well if it can happen to any one it will happen to me. I am pulling the tranny Sunday, and I'm sending the stall to VIG. I will let you guys no the verdict, stall or trans. Either way I have already spent a **** load of money.

I have the worst luck, first trans blew at 30,000, second at 65,000. 2 rear end replacements, and crap load of misc.
This car cost more money, but I love it.

If you have had the torque converter for over 2 years, it will be out of warranty. When you send it back to be reworked, talk to Vicki at Precision Industries and tell her I will take care of the cost to do the repairs. This should help you out on this somewhat.

Sir I thank you so much for doing that. I really didn't have the money to get my car fiixed. I was going to have to park the car until I could get the money. I will call you later today. Thanks again

Guys I really would look into Pro Builts trannys if your looking for a good one. Like I said in the the first post the tranny has shifted great from day one, dang stall.

I too will vouch for Dana, after some initial trouble with a tranny, he proivded tech support via telephone to try to solve the problem, when all options failed, he shipped another one out to me ASAP, even helped me out with most of the additonal charges I incurred with the installer. He is a businessman who stands by his product and his word.

As a side note the fault was not in his workmanship at all.
Overall I am a satisified customer and the car shifts and accelerates like I have never experienced in my Z. Yes folks when the 4l60e is set-up correctly it's a hell of a tranny.

2 thumbs up and thanks again to Dana
