How to use the 6l50 in a 74 camaro.

Can anyone tell me if I can use the 6L50 in a stock 74 camaro? Will the 6L50 bolt up to the 70's gm motors? If so what will it take to get it to shift properly? Are there any sources where I can get a adapter kit or something similar? 6L50 is a 6 speed automatic. Thanks for the help in advance.

It would probably take alot of work. I saw a 6l80 thread on ls1 tech going into a first gen and the floor pan had to be changed quite abit. Bolt patterns Im sure are the same as the other LSx style transmissions so you will need an adapter for that and probably a computer of some sort. Check out Keisler automotive, they make a6 conversions. BTW why a 50. Thats the weekest of them all.

It is the cheapest and I thought if I can make it work I can make the others work.
Thanks for the help. I will check the links out. Im hopeing I can find someone that has retro fitted the 6l80 or 6l90 into a 69 camaro with stock motor. This would be the ultimate kit. For we could use it in all GM carborated or fuel injected auto's. I realize the floor pan may need to be modified but it would be worth it.

I have a 57 pickup truck I want to put the 6l90 with paddle shift in it. I am currently building a 350 sbc with twin turbo draw through carbs on a tunnel ram. I am making the draw through setup myself for the first time.
