How to tell the condition of a m6?

Im new to a manual let alone an fbody, I am looking at buying one soon. Its got 46k on it. What should I look for while driving it to tell the condition of the clutch/tans.

Thanks,
Jason

Make sure it does not grind when changing gears, and make sure it does not "pop" out of gear....

If its grinding or poping out of gear does that mean its a clutch or trans problem? Thanks for the headsup. Anything you could tell me would be useful.

Every T56 I've test drove has "growled" when I started in first gear (the more I slip the clutch the less growl it made). Shift through all the gears. Shift fast/hard through the gears. Go WOT and shift. That is the best advice I can give. Don't be afraid to do to the car what you WILL do to the car .

Good luck. Happy LT1'ing .

Test when warm. I've noticed that the clutch engages/disengages slower when cold on my 98. Can cause grinding going into 2nd. I think it's the hydraulic fluid flowing slowly thru the line to the slave. Haven't done the drill mod yet.
