How much HP can stock rear handle with 4.11's and a girdle?
3.73's have a better record as far as not breaking as readily, plus an A4 is much more forgiving on the rear when compared to teh shock from an M6.
BTW, not trying to be an *** so don't take offense, but its written 3.73:1 (3.73 to 1) or just 3.73. In other words for each driveshaft rotation your axels will make 3.73 rotations. Going by the same scheme 3:73 would mean for every 73 times your DS turns you get 3 axel rotations.

Even more reason it wouldn't be written 3:73. I know you're joking but....
373 dg = 37.3g = .0373Kg
For reference, 1g ~= a paperclip and 1 Kg = 2.2 lbs
Now thats some light weight gears. No wonder the 10 bolt breaks so easily.
