How lucky have you 10-bolt fans been?

Doing a cam swap and tuning in a few weeks here when the trans comes back from D&D, wanting to put some 4.10's in my stock 10 bolt (keep in mind... its a newer 3.42 thats in there now since 15k ago I sent the damn carrier thru the old cover...) with the new cam and trans I want the 4.10's because im planning on at least drag radials... I want to get some MT ET Drags or ET Streets though and go with those... I dont think it'd really hurt the 10 bolt with 4.10s in it...

Just want some opinions on this and see if anyone has 4.10's in a 10 bolt launchin hard and having success or is it almost a recepie for failure? The car should push about 410-425 to the pavement after tuning....

I have pretty much 3 months to get my hands on a 12 bolt because my 10 bolt is gonna blow up after my car comes back from Pro Turbo in San Antonio....my car right now as it is N/A doesnt even like the 10 bolt with Nitto 555r's in the rear, u could ask WeaponZ28 or Jason from Z28.com about doin a cam an head upgrade with the stock rear =O lol....people get away with it all the time....but hard launches with good traction...too much viberation an thats the end of it

Thats a whole lot of ponnies with those gears combined you gonna be asking for trouble with that rear end.do you have a m6-or auto, with drag radials and and m6 you can pretty much say byebye to that rear end but those automatic trannys are real forgiving when it comes to gears.im running some high gears with dr's and launch real hard but its an auto and im not pushing no 400+ horses either, but my rear end is holdin real strong.

If you plan on blowing it up y spend the money on the gear to begin with? Just go 12-bolt and say hello to some nice air?

I had trouble with 4.10s but have not had the rear end break since switching to 4.11s. 3000rpm clutch dumps with BFG drag radials for 2 years now. I have every upgrade to the rear end necessary too, posi, girdle, stud kit and solid pinion spacer. Anything beyond that like axles, welding the axle tubes isn't worth it. Eventually I'll end up with a 9" or 12 bolt

hit or miss man.
i have had real good luck with mine. i ran the time in the sig with a 10 bolt and 3.73's with an auto.

anyway, it will last longer behind an auto than a 6 speed, that is for sure.
