How long will it last outside??

Hey guys, I'm putting my car back together it's been a few years that it has been in jack stands and now it's time. My t56 has 120,XXX miles and was working fine when I removed it a few years back, I had left it covered in our carport since then. My ? is, will there be anything needed to be done to make sure it's still in working condition I really don't know about opening up a std. transmission, you think there would be any damage to it??? what should I be worried about...
Thanks
jlo..

you might want to change the fluid in it, other than that its most likely good to go, prolly wouldnt have to change the fluid, but i would to be safe

Only way to tell is to just fill it up and take it for a spin to see what happens. You're fortunate that the trans is a sealed system, limiting the amount of moisture that could accumulate inside, otherwise you'd likely be screwed.
