How far up does you LT1 clutch pedal engage?

Mine seems to engage somewhere around the last 1/4 distance of the pedal travel, like the clutch is almost all the way out. I just noticed it WAY more since my wife bought me a 240sx for a beater.

My TA's pedal has always been like this though from what I can remember....

Mine does that also, its rather annoying. I tried every trick in the book listed on the forums, including shimming the master cylinder. O well, i doint think its the clutch. MITE be the flywheel thickness, who knows.

Mines right at the top, and I wouldn't want it any other way. Thats how you want it for powershifting, just jab the pedal instead of having to push it all the way down.

My LT1 M6 is the same way. I have considered making a stopper of some sort so the clutch pedal can't go all the way to the floor, but instead just past what it takes to shift the car, so I dont have to waste time over Jabbing the clutch pedal.

Any thoughts? is that a stupid idea? or something worth looking into?

lol, i like to do that too, but i need a short throw shifter cuz now my hand cant keep up

anyway, i can see the need for concern. my TA has the same issue with the clutch pedal, but my prior car, 95 Z had what i could describe as full travel. it would start to engage around 3/4 released and gradually grab more until i let it out. did it have a performance clutch or adjustable slave or something?
