How is Centerforce Dual friction on LT1
How is Centerforce Dual friction on LT1
I have a 1997 trans am that dynoed at 532bhp; car has a 355ci forged LT1, 9:0:1 compression, lighter valves/springs (all roller), boost cam, P1SC procharger with 3.40 pulley, 42lbs injectors, electronic ignition, headers, 3in exhaust, and a few other mods.
But before I put the car back together I'm going to put a clutch in as well.
MY QUESTION:
how is the centerforce dual friction clutch to drive . . . is it an ON/OFF kind of clutch? Is it easy to engage? Any other info would be great.
thanks,
Buzz

I ran the dual disc centerforce for a season, and driving to work, and it was a good clutch, no issues. Make sure you modify the clutch line, there are restrictors in the line like a funnel that you need to drill out. What they do is they let the fluid go down, then restrict the fluid going back up, letting the clutch slip a bit. If your really banging gears like in drag racing you'll smoke the clutch. A long drill bit, on both ends of the hydrulic line will take care of this problem. ( When GM was asked why they put in such a limp rear end, they said the tires will spin, or the clutch will slip) Protecting the ten bolt.
