i was at the track on friday and near the end on my last two runs i tried starting in second instead of first and the clutch seemed to be slipping pretty bad at about 40 mph i don't know if i toasted it or if it was just too hot from all my other runs. on the way home it held fine on the highway. what do you think?

But I guess as long as it is still drivable, use it.

But I just need to know, why would you want to launch it in 2nd gear?

wow i could never launch my spec 3 in second. it doesnt slip so it would probably buck pretty bad and stall.

 

well i have the 4.10's in the rear and i used to launch in second with my old tires 245's and i would spin them all day. when i launch in first it really doesn't launch it just roasts the tires. all i could do was baby it till i was going about 30 mph and then let 'er rip

 

i went back to the track today and things were okay till i gave a ride along to four of my friends the launch was the best yet ( in first gear) cuz with 700 extra pounds in the rear it had traction but after the 60' mark things went bad i was in second and the engine revved to 5k but i was only going like 40-45 i shifted to 3rd and it just slipped more.

anybody know where i could get a replacement disk for a stage 3 or get this one fixed?
