For comparison, here's my stock converter compared to the new tci. The truck can tach up from idle to 4k and back down to idle in less than 2 seconds, it's awesome!

shawn i had a 2000 stal because i feard the same things you did. but if i were you i would get a shift kit, it really helps firm those shifts with a stall, and get a stall thats not really higher then maybe a 3200, if you drive yours in traffic everyday then get something like a 2500 or so. but when i got mine installed i did have to push the pedal down a tad bit more then i did used to have to. but after i got it moving then i really didnt notice it. you will absolutly LOVE a stall, i could get the rear sidways almost on command in town. my advise would be a 3000 range stall and DEFINATLY a shift kit. good luck
