help with setting up mcleod clutch
help with setting up mcleod clutch
I tried posting this in drivetrain section, with no response. im installing a used mcleod street twin clutch in an lt1 camaro. I was wondering if anyone could send me a copy of the instructions because i dont have any with the clutch. I need to know the recommended gap between the clutches and plates and how to line everything up. They are labeled up, down, and flywheel side and also the flywheel has some punch marks to be aligned with something. If someone can let me know the specs or possible e-mail me scanned instructions, i would appreciate it. Thanks

Re: help with setting up mcleod clutch
Well...I hate to be the bringer of bad news, but if its not shimmed by McLeod the clearances are probably messed up. I just went through this about a month ago. I ended up calling McLeod. They had me send it back so they could set it up. It was only 100 bucks, though, and they pretty much rebuilt the thing except for the discs. Call them and ask for Don. He is their resident install expert and could probably answer any questions you might have. Some good news......IT IS TOTALLY WORTH IT! I love my clutch.

Here's my install write up. Maybe it will help.

I remember being super careful keeping all those shims in the same order they came from the factory. Good Luck.
