Help with choosing a Shift Kit & questions

I'm looking at getting a shift kit for my 700r4, but i dont know exactly what i'm looking for

Can someone explain to me what a shift kit for an automatic does, and is it worth the money?

Any suggestions on what shift kit to get for hard shifting performance? I'm just looking for a good performing shift kit around the $100 or less price range. Any ideas on which one?

Thanks

Re: Help with choosing a Shift Kit & questions

B&M sells a shift kit for the 700r4 thats priced reasonable around $30, dunno how much to install, but dont look for a HUGE improvement out of it, all 700r4's are pretty wierd, everyone responds differently to a shift kit but most dont get a huge difference, other than youll go from shifting to knowing youve shifted, thats what it did in my dads truck anyway, and that was with a little fine tuning of the shift kit in his favor.
