Help!! Car won't shift to 2nd at WOT
I ran my car for the first time this past weekend. It didn't run to bad, but the problem I had was that my car just refused to shift out of first (it's an auto). It would pull good off of the line, but then you would feel the power curve drop off around 5800-6000 rpms and the stupid thing wouldn't shift into 2nd. I let it get up to about 7000 rpms the one time then I let off a little and it shifted. That was pretty much the only way it would shift is if I let off of the gas. Any ideas? I've had a tune from PCMFORLESS.com and my car shifts hard and firm on the street; it's just when i'm at WOT that it won't shift.
I had it reprogrammed by PCMFORLESS.com and he said that
"The trans is set to begin shifting at 5500 RPM and should be completing by 5800 (5900 at the latest). The limiter is at 6300, if it is hitting it then the trans is taking almost 1000 RPM to shift and is in bad shape."
he seems to think my trans is bad. I beg to differ. My car has 45K miles on it and i never have noticed anything driving around town (slippage or anything).
I don't have a stall other than the stock one and as far as performance mods i pretty much just opened up the exhaust and threw on a Moroso air induction and some gears.
Any suggestions would be great. Please let me know. Thanks!
