Help with axle removal, need ASAP!

Im trying to replace my rear axle bearings and I cant get the block out of the middle of the carrier to get to the C clips. I take the lock bolt out and the block hits the ring gear. I just had a 4.10 moser gear installed and it looks like the installer had the same problem getting the block in after the gear was on. It looks like he drove the block in with a hammer and it scrapped the front of 4 teeth off. I dont know if this could hurt anything. My main thing is I need to get this block out, so why is it hitting the ring gear? Ive added a picture too for refrence.

Sorry I don't know how to get it out but SLP shows that you need a special paddle kit to use 4:10 gears with a torsen differential. http://www.slponline.com/view_product.asp?P=64002

I would say you're are correct about your installer using a grinder or hammer to install the gears.

Thats great, he got it in and I dont know how Im suppose to get it out. Id have to grind at least a 1/16 off the front of the teeth to get it out now. Does filing the gear hurt its strength?

Who in the heck would do that to a gear set? That is insane. I would consider them ruined.

Well I had a performance shop thats specialty is Camaro/Firebirds. I guess they didnt figure Id ever open up the rear. If they would have done the wheel bearings like I asked I would have never seen it.

I've ground teeth down, both to repair chipped teeth and access for paddle and/or pin,and as long as grinding burrs are stoned down and the removed portion is not part of the 'pattern',it'll have no effect on gear life.If the 'pattern' is/was set up right, the removed portion will be/would be not close to the central core of the 'pattern'.

I was hoping that would be the case and when I talk to the shop I was going to see if this was common practice. I just need to get the block out, I guess I could always put a pattern on the gear and take off somemore.
