Grinding sound with clutch pushed all the way in...
I took my car out today to do a little operatrional check of some maintenance I'd done and after a wot run or two, whenever I pushed the clutch in all the way to the floor, it makes a grinding noise, any ideas?
Re: Grinding sound with clutch pushed all the way in...
Oh yeah it only does it with the clutch all the way in. Still engages/disengages fine, and no grinding anywhere else in the pedal travel except all the way in... hope that helps some...
Re: Grinding sound with clutch pushed all the way in...
My buddy's Spec 3 clutch did this when we first installed it; he talked to Spec and they suggested that he add a couple of washers to space the slave cylinder away from the bell housing. Cured his grinding issue. Talk with Spec.
Re: Grinding sound with clutch pushed all the way in...
seems like a long shot (no pun intended)
i suppose its the tips of your clutch fork hitting the diaphram fingers on your pressure plate
thusly it only happens when the pedal is pressed all the way down
if u ever chang your clutch inspect the tips of the fork, the probably extend out farther than the throwout bearing's seat, and would show signs of wear
and so putting spacers at the slave cylinder would prevent you from fully extending the fork and hitting the diaphram

I mean, I've had the clutch in for over a year, and it just started. If i twas gonna do this, shouldn't it have done it from the beginning?
