well i was drivng yesterday and i guess my stock tranny and/or converter decided it had had enough of my abuse....i gave the car a little gas and all of a sudden i felt a jolt...after that the gears that still worked slip really bad with a high pitched whining noise...reverse is completely gone and i can only be sure that 1st and MAYBE 2nd work somewhat.....it soudns like the converter is shot but im betting the sunshell is busted up too...

car is sitting helplessly on the side of the street in front of my friends house now....

im taking this opportunity to dump the TCS/Stock 4L60E combo for a level 1 high performance built 4L60E with a vigilante 3200 set up.....its gonna cost me a pretty penny but its rated to 450 hp and 450 ft lbs.....

hopefully this will be enough to hold up to my amazing 337 rwhp....

this really sux...

 

went for broke on the fix today....

i skipped the stock rebuild and ordered a C.M. level one upgraded 4L60E with some cool stuff like a corvette servo, Art Carr sunshell, deep pan, upgraded clutch pack, shift kit, kevlar 2-4 band, and a few other goodies.

and to replace my busted converter...

this stuff cost me an arm and a leg but its rated to 450 hp 450 tq which i dont have to worry about so hopefully once it finally comes maybe ill go for awhile without busting it....

BTW, how many miles are on your car?

 

56,900 miles.....was 45,900 when i got it and judging by tis bone stock appearance when i bought it, i have a feeling those first 45K miles werent as hard as the 11K i put on it....cars gonna be down for abotu 10 days it looks like..

hopefully ill get lucky and theyll send it a day or two sooner...

 

That should work out good for ya.
I don,t like to spend that much money though so I had a local guy build me a beefed trans and I put a TCI converter in it.
Total= 1200 buks with me doin the removal and install.
