I had none of these issues. Maybe its because you have a big inch LT1 with ported heads and a huge cam?

Re: Good LT1 Clutch Disc?

LOL, well... I couldn't manage to baby it any longer. I got about 75-100 miles on it. Tonight at the "hang out" I ended up getting a run with a white 02 TransAm. Did 3 runs ***** to the wall and the baby grabbed. After the runs I did smell either Brakes or Clutch, not sure which it was but from what I could feel the clutch didnt slip.

Do you have a dial caliper? The total MAX thickness on the disk should be under.330 thick. Anything more than that will not allow the unit to disengage properly. If your having disk issues Give Don in the reworks dept a call
714 630 2764. Listen to the new Directory select # 4 or 5 for reworks. Don will take care of you.

My friends running a cammed LT1 on a 150 shot with the mcleod single disk, and launches it all the time on m/t DR's with no issues, the single disk mcleod is no slouch...

I've got ~500 miles on mine and it chatters sometimes, but it won't chirp the tires going into second. Just slips a little then grabs. Is this normal? My SLP clutch would bark 'em easy.

Before you put the new disk in did you have the pressure plate re-surfaced?
It's kinda important to have two new surfaces mate each other. If the P/P had heat spots or Hi/Low spots prior to install of new disk you could run into some chatter. Also did you follow the instructions of taking it easy for the first 500 miles so the disk could break in?

The PP was resurfaced and I drove it to/from work (lots of stop lights) normal for 500 miles...

Got mine in today at it is the same way. Reverse is a BITCH to get into, but other than that I LOVE the way it grabs, I almost don't even need to use the gas pedal to takeoff.
