Gen 1 SBC & T 56, what clutch?

Finishing up my 95 project car and had a question before I pickup a clutch. Does the factory style LT1 flywheel, clutch and pressure plate bolt up to a gen 1 SBC that's internally balanced, 010 2 piece block? It's the factory Borg Warner T56 with a LT1 bell housing.

If not what combos are do I need to make this work. I was going to mock it up tonight until I realized my stock parts are missing

Yes, it will all bolt up. You will of course need an LT1-specific clutch. A stock flywheel will not work with your internally balanced setup however. The stock LT1 rotating assembly is externally balanced by the flywheel, so you will either have to replace it with an aftermarket neutrally balanced piece, or have a machine shop neutrally balance the stock flywheel.

Is your crank a 1-piece or 2-piece rear main seal? You can use any LT1 specific clutch, you just have to have the right neutral balanced flywheel to bolt up to a 1-piece or 2-piece.

Its a two piece rear main.

From what I am hearing then I can take a factory LT1 flywheel and have it neatural balanced and everything should bolt up and work. Is that correct?

No. You need a neutral balance flywheel that bolts up to a 2-piece crank and will work with a T56. McLeod, Centerforce and Findanze all make one that will work for you. A 1-piece crank has equally spaced holes and a round tapered end. A 2-piece is more of a flange and the bolt pattern is offset. Here is a picture of my 2-piece crank and flywheel that I used to mate a BBC with a 2-piece crank to a LT1 T56. The only way you could use your LT1 flywheel would be if the crank was a 1-piece and you had it neutral balanced since your engine was internally balanced.

Compare the above picture of the end of the crank (on the left) to that of a LT1 crank. I don't have a picture readily available to post, but you should see the difference.
