Gears or different convertor?

I have a 3400stall fuddle convertor with stock 3:23 gears. This is on a hot cam LT1. I just got this car finished and have been driving it for about a week to work out the bugs. I'm not to sure I like this high stall. Would changing the gears to 3:43 or 3:73 help? I don't like the way the car takes off under light throttle. It seems like to much stall. This is my first stall, so I don't know. Any thoughts?

Re: Gears or different convertor?

gears will help, you'll get to stall speed, and the aggressive gearing will assist in takeoff, but are you sure you want that much stall? usually the stall speed is somewhere in the peak torque area i dont know much about the new LT1s but i know that you need some ***** for it to be necessary in a 1st gen block

usually the gears just naturally accompany the stall because the cam, heads and intake require both more aggressive gears and high stall speed to function correctly and not bog off the line

maybe you can elaborate on what you dont like about light launches, do you just need to rev too high to move? cause agressive gears will require you to rev higher to move, just it'll be easier to rev higher, and you'll do it faster.
