Re: Gears?

Look at the sticker in the glove box. Look for one of these RPO codes.

GU2 - 2.73
GU4 - 3.08
GU5 - 3.23
GU6 - 3.42
GW6 - 3.27
GM3 - 3.45
GT4 - 3.73
G80 - posi
G92 - performance

If someone says the only forsure way to know is to open the axle and look, they're right. But how many cars honestly have had their axles changed, without the owner knowing about it?

Re: Gears?

Once you get the ratio from the RPO code you can also doublecheck the MPH against the RPM's at a site like www.f-body.org/gears/
