Gears?

I have a 99 M6 Z28 and I don't know anything about gears. I am looking for more low end torque but didn't know how to go about it. I don't want to wear anything out so what gears should I go with tha would make a noticable improvement on the stock 10 bolt. I just don't have the money for a 12 but I did see SLP had gears for like $250.
Thanks

4.10's are a nice choice with the M6.
