Gearbox Mystery!

My A4 when engaged to [D] it has developed high pitched sound and the normal take off speed is not obtained even during acceleration, this the same with that of [R].

well i’m lucky as hell, the guarantee still valid (2 months left!)

after a repair was done, the problem has been rectified.

what the hell really happened to my gearbox ?

Was this incident has happened to you guys? The mechanic just says nothing! But he said gearbox was broken.

What has broken and which has broken??

Sounds like the torque converter went bad. When it sheers fluid it whines and loses torque multiplication.

No its not torque converter..

I called the dealer this morning and contacted to an

engineer or foreman (whatever)... when I asked him he said

about somthing called "shell-pack"!

well I dont know what the shell pack is, but as per him its a small

gear ... (that much info gave me) and adviced me to replace gear

mountains every 60,000 km (about 40,000 miles)
