Re: Gear Whine On Acceleration

What size are your 555Rs? If you used 245/16's I may have to rethink using those... Though you are making more HP and TQ than I am. so maybe I would be OK. Or not...

EDIT: Duh... I just read your siq... you are using 315s. I am planning to use 245s... I am hoping they will be better than my GS-Cs, but not TOO good. I am hoping to be able to spin them...

The Nittos will hook better than the GS-Cs, especially at temps over 75-80* Mine spin really easy under 65* but hook so much better over 75* I can burn 'em off in 1st pretty easy (75*+) but they just squawk and go in 2nd

You said you are saving for a new 12 bolt or 9 inch. How much do these cost? Have you done any research yet? Are these ALOT stronger than what we have now? Also, how do you like the shift kit? My tunner let me change the shift hardness, is the same as what a shift kit does?

You know your sh*t, thanks for sharing your knowledge.

The ones I'm looking at are around 2000-2500$ for the options I need/want (3-channel ABS, 33-spline axles, etc.). I'm leaning towards the 9" at the moment (no ABS option but it is doable), but the 12-bolts are almost as strong. I have big plans for this car at the drag strip and will need something that can handle slicks with a really strong motor. With the probs I've already had with the 10-bolt, I want to beef up the drivetrain before going nuts with the motor. I've done general research but still haven't narrowed it down to one manufacturer yet.

I've had stock, HPP3 shift tune and the TransGo kit. The kit blows away the others. It raises line press. like the shift hardness tune and so much more. It modifies the valve body to shift quicker and to have better manual control (downshifts at any speed - careful if you don't have a ratcheting shifter). It squawks the Nittos even when I'm not trying

Thanks for saying I know my ****, but I don't claim to be an expert. Many others on this board know WAY more than I do, I've just learned alot from breaking stuff and having to fix it myself (and asking for help here ).
