gear selection

ok, im building a 355 for my truck, which is going to be sprayed, now for the tranny im going with a 350 turbo instead of my 700R4, what rear end gear do you guys suggest to be the best to run, i figured i would leave the 3.42s with it thinking that would be a good combination for gears because a 4.56 is too much gear to daily drive, any suggestions, i get the response of "stick with the 700r-4" on the truck forum when i dont feel like spending a fortune on rebuilding it and already have a 350 turbo in my sites.

i would go with a 3.73 gear,and since it's a truck a 28" tall tire will fit great,and still give good driveability.

mine are 26" tall though, would 2 inches make that drastic of a difference, i was kinda thinking about a 3.73 also but wasnt for sure.

stick with the 3.42's for now then. the 3.73/38" combo just has more mechanical leverage, but ultimately around the same final ratio you have now.
